ANALYSES, TESTS AND ASSAYS PERFORMED BY DEXTRON's LABORATORY

QUALITY INSPECTION AND ANALYSIS FOR WATER, AIR AND SOIL

  • Characterizing benzines and other oil products by means of gas chromatography analysis through FID ("flame ionization detector") based upon DHA (detailed hydrocarbon analysis): octane number, distillation curves, vapour pressure, density etc.;*
  • Gas chromatography analysis by FID ("flame ionization detector") for some organic compounds of VOC type, oxygenated compounds from benzines, alcohols, phenols, organic acids etc.*
  • Measuring, monitoring volatile organic compounds (VOC) by means of a portable measuring system MiniRAE 2000, recently acquired by PETRODESIGN, relying on PID detection ("photo ionization detector"), in pursuance of the Technical Certificate no. 228682/29.08.2002 owned by Petrodesign for VOC inspection of oil products terminals and gasoline stations as per the Governmen Decision 568/2001 and the Ministry of Water and Environmental Protection order 77/31.1.2002;**
  • Measuring, monitoring by means of portable measuring devices based on PID detection on the spot ("photo ionization detector") of some volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as halogenated derivates, aromatic hydrocarbons, solvents and oxygenated organic compounds etc as per Government Decision 699/8.07.2003;**
  • Estimating, measuring, monitoring and calculating losses due to vaporization of oil and petrochemical products at fix and floating roof tanks and other storage systems;**.
  • Determining and distributing sulphur content from oil distillate cuts (per distillate percentage of a certain oil product or end and residual products (gasoline, gas oil, crude oil, heavy oil, residues etc.) by means of X-XRF fluorescence spectrophotometry as per SR ISO;***
  • Determining metal content (Pb in benzines, V, Cr, Ni etc.) in end and residual products (benzines, gas oil, crude oil, heavy oil, residues etc.) by means of X-XRF fluorescence spectrophotometry as per SR ISO;***
  • Determining some elements (halogens, metals, non-metals etc.) in the content of various materials and solid and liquid substances (glass, polymers, pigments, sediments, composites, ceramics etc.) by means of X-XRF fluorescence spectrophotometry;***
  • Characterizing solid catalysts (active or wasted) of metal type placed upon support in order to determine the metal, contaminants etc. by means of X-XRF fluorescence spectrophotometry;***
  • Determining hydrocarbons content in water, soil etc. by means of infrared spectrophotometry;****
  • Performing general analysis and characterization of oil products and residues (benzines, gas oils, crude oil, heavy oil, oils, residues etc.), determination of metal content (Pb in benzines, V, Cr etc. by means of X-ray fluorescence), determination of distillation, viscosity, vapour pressure, octane number, rubber content, cetane index (gas oils), water content, acidity, benzene content (IR), hydrocarbons content (IR), ASTM colour, coke number, freezing point (gas oils, oils), cinders content, viscisity index (oils), etc. as per SR ISO, STAS;*****
  • Determining content of Cr (VI), Fe2+/Fe3+, NH+4, phenol, etc. by means of spectrophotocolourimetry as per SR ISO, STAS****

WORKS AND SERVICES RENDERED BY DEXTRON's LABORATORY

  • calculation, simulation and analysis of equipment performances based on laboratory analysis (heat exchangers etc. by means of specialized simulation software), in reliance upon PETRODESIGN SA's specialists technical and scientific support;
  • impact studies, environmental balances, risk assessment etc. in pursuance of laboratory analysis rendered for water, air, soil;
  • laboratory scale study upon thermic and catalytic reactions of oil processing, petrochemistry and environment protection (atmospheric and vacuum distillation, thermal cracking, pyrolysis, visbreaking, catalytic cracking, catalytic reforming, oligomerization, alkylation, isomerisation, hydrocracking, hydrotreating); engineering of separation, purification, heat transfer processes; environment protection engineering (reactions DeNOx, catalytic combustion etc.);
  • laboratory scale study upon specific processes meant to obtain end petroleum products of high quality, especially ecological fuels, which have to observe the norms under control by Environment Protection Agencies (cut down of sulphur heterocompounds content etc.);
  • basic applications for reasearch in the field of oil processing engineering, chemical engineering, environment protection engineering;
  • determination and monitoring by static processing, solution studies, atmospheric dispersions calculation etc. of certain volatile organic compounds, gaseous pollutants (NOx, SOx etc.) from various bound sources: refineries, petrochemical units, thermo power plants stacks, storing places, factories, dying plants etc.
  • formula optimization for reformed benzines, gas oils, biofuels: characterization, mixture properties estimate by computer aided programming;

  • ***X-ray fluorescence spectrometer from PANANALITICAL - manufacturing year 2002, performs basic analysis of the elements Z=11 up to Z=105 with some exceptions (shared by UPG - OIL and GAS University Ploiesti)
  • **Portable VOC analysis device - MINIRARE 2000 - manufacturing year 2003;
  • ****Spectrophotometer UV-VIS and IR (shared by UPG - OIL and GAS University Ploiesti);
  • Analytical microbalance Toledo;
  • Leco SC-432 sulphur from liquid and solid samples;
  • Reagents and glassware;
  • Calcination furnace;
